Joe Anthony Silva age 92, was born on November 10, 1933, to Frank and Julianna Silva and passed away on April 20, 2026. Married for 71 years to Darlene Joyce Silva.

Joe was an All-American running back in high school for the Gustine Reds. He was a mechanic in the army and served at Fort Ord. He had a passion for flying and had his pilot license and plane for several years. He was a farmer in Gustine with his two main crops being tomatoes and alfalfa. For being the first in the area to buy a tomato harvester, custom harvesting, and the invention of the tomato washer, Joe was also known by many locally and surrounding areas as “Tomato Joe”. Joe enjoyed wind surfing and snow skiing up until the age of 88.

Joe is survived by his wife, Darlene Silva; son, Wayne Anthony Silva; grandsons, Evan Alan (Yennely) Silva and Quinn Robert Silva; great grandchildren, Hunter, Faith, Drake and Selah Silva. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Frank Silva; mother, Julianna Silva and his son, Alan Joseph Silva.

A Private Celebration of life service will be held at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 515 1st Ave Gustine, CA 95322.

Joe will be deeply missed and remembered by many.
