GUSTINE — Points were hard to come by Tuesday night as the Gustine Reds dropped a tight 6–0 flag football matchup to Linden in a game defined by defense from start to finish.

Linden opened with the ball, but Gustine immediately set the tone, stopping the Lions on four straight downs to force a punt. The Reds pushed deep into Linden territory on the ensuing drive before being stopped on a fourth‑and‑1, one of several key defensive stands in the first half.

Gustine’s defense continued to dominate, forcing another four‑and‑out, but an interception halted the Reds’ next possession. Linden couldn’t capitalize, punting again as the first quarter ended scoreless.
