NEWMAN - Three more games remain on the Orestimba High School football team's schedule.

Two of them will be played at Warrior Stadium. One of them will be this Friday. That is when Orestimba (0-3 in the Trans-Valley League, 4-3 overall) welcomes Hughson (2-1 in the TVL, 5-2). The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The Warriors are looking to bounce back after TVL and Westside rival Hilmar posted a 35-6 win at McSweeney Field on Friday. Hughson played at home, also on Friday, and recorded a 31-14 win over Sonora.

Stats

On offense, Warrior quarterback Jorden Jacobo has completed 70 of 142 passes for 976 yards - just 24 yards away from throwing for 1,000 or more yards this season. He’s also thrown 10 touchdowns and only one interception.

Moving to the ground game, Orestimba running back Michael Maier has carried the ball 64 times for 553 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hunter Silva, a junior who is also a running back, is next at 39 carries for 355 yards and two touchdowns. Jacobo is 42-219 and three more TDs for a combined 13.

In the air, four Warriors have more than 100 yards each. Wide receiver Gary Moore has 23 receptions for 308 yards and a touchdown. Another receiver in Sean Nunes is 19-262 and four touchdowns, and Connor Orr, also a receiver, is 9-165 and two touchdowns. Maier is 6-126 and a touchdown.

On the defensive side, Maier shines from his outside linebacker’s spot with 52 tackles. Another outside linebacker in Tommy Green is next with 43 tackles. There are nine Warrior players who have more than 20 tackles each.

Upcoming games

The Warriors’ remaining TVL games have them at Ripon High on Friday, Oct. 30 and hosting Escalon in the finale on Friday, Nov. 6.

How Orestimba does in its remaining games will determine if it earns a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoff berth or play in a bowl game that the section started for non-playoff teams at the end of the 2025 regular season.
