Get ready to hop into the Easter spirit because the Gustine Lions Club, along with the Miss Gustine Court, is getting ready for the annual Easter egg hunt. The annual tradition will take place at the Schmidt Park Baseball Fields on March 30.
The festivities kick off bright and early at 9:30 a.m. and go till 12 p.m., with vendors offering crafts and merchandise, ensuring there’s something for everyone. And not to forget about the food trucks. Kona Ice to Central Valley Snowie will cool down the place during the hunt.
“Lions Club is very dedicated to this tradition in Gustine and that it’s been going on since I was a kid,” said Amanda Oliveira, Miss Gustine Pageant Director.
But the real excitement begins at 9:30 a.m. when the Easter egg hunt officially begins. A sound signals the start, prompting eager egg hunters. To keep things fair, there will be separate hunts for different age groups, ensuring everyone has a crack at finding some goodies. Make sure to check in with the event coordinator to place children in the correct bracket.
There will be golden eggs. Some very special prizes within the field of eggs. Plus, if you’re feeling lucky, be sure to stick around for the raffle. Fifteen baskets will be up for grabs throughout the event.
There will also be a surprise visit. The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance, ready to pose for photos and spread joy to all who attend.
“The kids have a lot of fun,” Oliveira mentioned. “The Easter Bunny will be there to take pictures. So, it’s a great way to meet the Easter Bunny and just get ready for Easter the following day.”
Sign-ups for the Miss and little Mr. and Miss Gustine pageant are underway. But registration for age groups 5-7 years old closes on April 12, so be sure to find Oliveira at the event if interested.
The hunt is still looking for vendors. If you’re interested in showcasing, or having your business participate at this egg hunt, reach out to Amanda Oliveira at (209)704-3782 before the March 26 deadline.
