Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 66 calls for service and reported 52 officer-initiated calls for a total of 118 incidents from May 23 to May 29.

There were 13 cases opened and nine arrests. The department issued seven traffic citations, two criminal citations, three parking citations and towed two vehicles.

 

Arrests

  • Jose Navarro, 40, of Newman, was arrested on May 23 for willful discharge of a firearm (felony), assault with a firearm on a person (felony), and altering/removing ID marks on a firearm (felony).
  • Marissa Rubalcava, 45, of Newman, was arrested on May 23 for accessory after the fact (felony), carrying a loaded firearm on person (misdemeanor), altering/removing ID marks on a firearm (felony), possession of a controlled substance while armed (felony), obstructing/resisting a peace officer (misdemeanor), and possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor).
  • Jacquelin Rodriguez, 28, of Newman, was arrested on May 23 for driving with a license suspended for DUI (misdemeanor).
  • Silverio Sandoval, 43, of Newman, was arrested on May 23 for driving with a license suspended for DUI (misdemeanor).
  • Mario Torres, 19, of Turlock, was arrested on May 24 for battery with serious bodily injury (felony), assault with a deadly weapon with force (felony), corporal injury on a child (felony), conspiracy (felony), and participating in a criminal street gang (felony).
  • Edgar Valenzuela Navarro, 47, of Hilmar, was arrested on May 24 for DUI (misdemeanor), DUI with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more (misdemeanor), and unlicensed driving (misdemeanor).
  • Talan Hardy, 18, of Newman, was arrested on May 29 for willful discharge of a firearm (felony), shooting at an unoccupied dwelling/vehicle (felony), conspiracy (felony), and aiding and abetting (felony).
  • Juvenile Female, 14, of Newman, was arrested on May 29 for battery on a person on school property (misdemeanor).

Arrests

  • Luis Gerardo Quintero Ramirez, 21, was arrested at 5:29 p.m. on May 23 in the 0 Block of Jensen for bench warrant/failure to appear on a felony charge (F).
  • Robert Eric Jr. Wrobbel, 29, was summoned/cited at 7:52 p.m. on May 23 at 5th St/6th Ave for obstructing/resisting a public/peace officer/emergency medical technician (M) and a mental health evaluation.
  • Blake David Saenz, 36, was taken into custody at 10:40 a.m. on May 24 in the 1200 Block of North Ave for trespassing/refusing to leave property (M) and obstructing/resisting a public/peace officer/emergency medical technician (M).
  • Alma Ramos Armenta, 30, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. on May 24 at Railroad Ave/South Ave for DUI alcohol (M), DUI alcohol with .08 percent (M), bench warrant/failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge (M), driving with a suspended license for DUI (M), restricted driver using a vehicle without an interlock device, and possession of an open container.
  • Gonzalo Antonio Lopez Rodas, 33, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. on May 26 at Airport for bench warrant/failure to appear on a felony charge and driving with a suspended license for DUI.
