Newman Library

The Newman Library is hosting Lego Day from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 25.

Nintendo Switch Hour will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 29 and is for children 8 to 13 years old. The Teen Nintendo Switch Hour will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 30 and is open to kids 12 to 18 years old.

The library will host preschool story time at 10 a.m. and Wee Move and Play each Wednesdays.

Gustine Library

The Gustine Library’s Family Storytime will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 27 and Family Lego Fun Time at 1 p.m. on July 27.

Circle of Friends, an adult knitting and crocheting group will meet from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 30. Adult coloring will start at 4 p.m. on July 30. 

Tiny Tales Storytime is set for 10:30 a.m. on July 25. It’s meant for children 3 to 6 years. Kid’s Game Time will be at 4 p.m. July 25 and is open to kids 7 to 12 years old.

Native Sons of the Golden West

The John C. Fremont Parlor #293 Native Sons of the Golden West will be holding their next meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the VFW Hall in Gustine. Those wishing to play cards should arrive at 5 p.m. Dinner will be at 6:30 and Bingo will follow.

New members no longer have to be born in California, just U.S. citizens.

American Legion Auxiliary

American Legion Auxiliary District 12 luncheon and installation of officers for 2024-2025, will be at 11 a.m. on July 27 at the Green Acres Clubhouse in Gustine. All auxiliary members are invited to attend. American Legion Auxiliary Manuel M Lopes unit 240 would like to congratulate Mary Ann Watson on being selected the District 12 President for 2024-2025.

Movie Night

The City of Newman’s recreation department is hosting a movie night at 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at Sherman Park. The movie will be “Migration.”
