NEWMAN — Orestimba Presbyterian Church marked a major milestone this weekend as the congregation and community gathered to celebrate the church’s 150th anniversary, commemorating a century and a half of worship, service and fellowship on the Westside.

Stanislaus County Supervisor Channce Condit joined church members during the celebration, recognizing the long‑standing role Orestimba Presbyterian has played in Newman since its founding in 1876.

“Celebrating 150 years is an incredible milestone and a testament to the generations of people who have called Orestimba Presbyterian Church home,” Condit said. “This congregation has been a constant presence in Newman, serving families and strengthening the community for a century and a half.”

Condit also honored Pastor Grant Goble for his leadership and continued dedication to the congregation.

“Pastor Goble’s leadership behind the pulpit continues a proud tradition of faith and service at Orestimba Presbyterian Church,” Condit said. “His commitment to the congregation and the Newman community is helping carry that 150‑year legacy forward for the next generation.”

The weekend celebration brought together current and former members, families and local residents to reflect on the church’s history and look ahead to its future. Church leaders and longtime members shared stories of the congregation’s roots, its growth and its enduring presence in the community.

Condit congratulated Pastor Goble, church leadership and generations of members who have contributed to Orestimba Presbyterian’s legacy, noting the church’s continued impact on the Westside.
